Frequently-Asked Questions

You sure seem to be very US-centric. What gives?

This was all put together by 3 folks who live, we admit, in the United States. There’s an abundance of free data available in the US, and we decided to optimize for that. Other locales may provide similarly rich data, but we have not yet taken the time to investigate and implement. It’s on our agenda, ultimately, though.

What’s with all the RSS?

Yes, we know this is a site about gardening, but RSS is the way of the future. We figured by providing a veritable cornicopia of feeds, we’re allowing you to stitch together exactly the view you want. At last estimate, there’s over 50,000 base feeds available across the site. And it grows every time someone adds a journal entry, and image, or other content. Note to self: Do we need a feed of feeds?

Your site looks like manure. Why don’t you fix it?

We highly suggest using Firefox or Safari instead of Microsoft Internet Explore (MSIE). Everything looks like manure in MSIE. Upgrade today! You’ll thank us.

A Web-2.0 startup in Asheville, NC? Really?

Yep. That’s the beauty of web 2.0. Even the us shoeless hill folk of Appalachia can wing out a social networking platform in no time. And still have time left over to play our banjos.
