Oh no! That's awful! I don't know if you have one of these, but I recently learned that Willow promotes root growth. So you can take a branch off a willow tree and soak in it water to create a root growth tea. Maybe you can stick the branch into the dirt too?

I'm sure the sucker stems will keep it alive. :)
