    Yup, you can trim them back. For any plant that creeps you can  cut back the new/extra growth. Just keep the center of the plant in tact. <br/><br/>For my oregano, which grows up as it grows out, I also like to trim off the top regularly too. If you wait too long, when you clip of the top you'll reveal stems with no leaves.
