It's a Race, Meadow Rue(s)!

My first Meadow Rue plants are now planted in four locations...it will be interesting to see which ones do best.

It is amazing to me when you have identically purchased plants (to the eye, anyway) and one ends up three feet tall while the other is still at 3 inches...like my echinops. I'll take a photo in a separate posting. Genetics I guess.

The Columbine Meadow Rue is a 40th birthday present from my sister-in-law Kate.

Ordered from Amazon/Hirt's Gardens:

"Graceful woodland plant with lacy columbine-type foliage and airy panicles of pink tufted blooms. Needs moist, well-drained soil. From Europe, Asia. Early summer bloom. Grows 4.5 ft. tall. Pink flowers. Plant in Sun or Part Shade. Hardy in Zones 5-9. The correct name for this plant is Thalictrum aquilegifolium. The plants you will receive are growing in 3 inch pots."

Hope it grows strong and big! Thanks, Katie!

See what I mean? Both planted at the exact same time, same conditions!
