    Pollan's _Omnivore's Dilemma_ was the catalyst for me to wake up some, at least in what we're consuming.<br/><br/>Of course, I'm still a sucker for donuts which invariably contain high-fuctose corn syrup.

    Bob - be careful when you mention HFCS around Katie.  She's a real firebrand about that stuff.  :) <br/><br/>One of the things I really liked about Kingsolver's book was the focus on not just growing what you eat, but knowing what you eat.  Buying locally from farmers who live in your neck of the woods.  Supporting the small family farmer whose life and livelihood add so much to your own, through the fantastically fresh, healthy and delicious foods they grow.
