I had the same thing happen with my blackberry bareroots! I only had 5 out of 13 branch out, but I kept putting off clearing out the dead ones. Then today I noticed I had two more!

Your flowers are beautiful. I'd like to figure out how to do flowers some year.

claire - yeah blackberries will definitely take over when you're not looking :) This is my first year doing flowers and I'm just kind of doing it on a whim. Although it would be nice to have a planned flower garden.

Well maybe...
We did the same thing and enjoyed it.
Food service, from growing, to packing, to serving at the restaurant was fun.
Great when the kids were home.
Now just gardening and consulting.
