Ladybugs and Aphids

For those of you that read one of my previous journal entries where I asked about a bug, you'll be familiar with a picture similar to this one:

If you look carefully the ladybug larvae on the left is empty. And you'll never guess who is handing out near by:

More ladybugs! When I was consulting with someone about the larvae, they said you usually don't see a lot of that unless you have an aphid problem. I had previously removed some aphid infested kale from the front yard but hadn't seen very many aphids anywhere else. Well, today I found their colony!

Gross, huh?! And this was only one portion of the plant. This was a kale plant in my backyard veggie garden that I was letting go to seed. It has since been put in the trash.

Wow that is crazy! Aphids are the devil. I despise them tons. I keep on wondering why some of my plants get them. I've read because of stress or too much nitrogen. Darn those aphids darn them all.

Ewwww! I've never seen an infestation so bad. That's just crazy. And as Vanillalotus says, "darn them all"!!
