So I'm really excited about a plant swap thats happening in Montford tomorrow. The weather is currently calling for morning rain but hopefully that will be done by 2pm. For anyone local interested in attending here is the blurb from the mountain express:
Asheville Local Exchange Trading System (LETS)
A community network that allows members to exchange services
without the use of cash. LETSystems helps keep resources in the
community, builds trust and good will between neighbors, and reduces
waste by facilitating repair and recycling. Info: 1-800-627-9060 or

• SA (4/26), 2pm - Seedling Swap at Magnolia Park, Montford. Bring
bulbs, cuttings, plants or seeds and swap them for others. Enjoy the
benefits of sharing resources. Remember to bring a snack to share.
I haven't finalized everything I'm going to bring but my list tentatively includes:
- 2 rue seedlings
- 1 catnip seedling
- 1 horehound seedling
- some of our sunflower seed packets to give to anyone who hasn't received one :)
- maybe a zinnia seedling
- possibly a yarrow seedling
- a salad burnet plant
- mint
I've only potted 4 of the things on that list, so the rest depends on how much time I have for potting things tomorrow.
Also, not this weekend but the following weekend is the annual herb festival:

Aaron and I look forward to this event every year. I love this event because you can find things your nursery might not carry all the time like: toothache plant, pineapple sage, all different flavor mints, shade loving wild herbs (like bloodroot), elephant ear basil and so on.
In previous years we didn't make it there until Sunday but this year we will be there on Friday. Even though its a good size festival, its a popular festival and people sell out of stuff.
I also might add that we have a monthly "Bloom and Brew" event in the works. More details on that later!
