My New Garden Buddy

Thursday, April 10th 2008, 5:32pm by june

So while my mom was out walking today she saw a bunny in the park. I called her up -- not aware of this yet -- and she asks if I want to go catch a rabbit. [I love rabbits and haven't had one since my childhood bunny passed.]

So we go to the park and rabbit is still where she saw it last. He is so gentle that I was able to walk right up to it, pet it and pick it up.

We're guessing he was dumped off there but I will still make an effort to see if he was lost.

Although I must admit I'm hoping I get to keep him. He's so fuzzy and cute. Not to mention rabbit poo is an awesome fertilizer.

Here's the best picture I have of him [need to recharge the camera batteries]

I've already started dreaming up big plans for a bunny house with a green roof...but I need to figure out if he can stay first. we'll see!

Looks like you need to plant even more carrots this year, eh?
Me

What a cutie. I had bunnies when I was younger too and would love to have some again. I love your green roof idea! If I get a bunny sometime in the future I will have to steal your green roof idea.

Did a quick search of some bunny foods. Here a website that says what to feed your bunny and what not to feed.

June - what fun! A new creature for you - soon you'll be running your own livestock feedlot. :)

I have a book with plans for a green-roof garden shed that looks a lot like this: http://www.greenroofs.com/projects/pview.php?id=455

I think this is originally Norwegian design.
