Spontaneous Gardening

So I walked out of my house this morning and there was something in the air that was so nice. I watered a couple seedlings that haven't made it in the ground yet. I then spent some time gazing at my herb garden. I was looking at my herb garden and then back at my garden with the pak choi. And next to the pak choi garden my herb garden looked like a disaster. So I decided to do some gardening real quick while the morning was fresh and the weather was nice.

After my speed gardening I then went to our local health food store to pick up breakfast and lunch. I was whizzing past one of the isle endcaps when I saw a container with "Chia" on it. I thought that sounds familiar and then I remembered that I have Chia seeds! I had completely forgotten about them. I had picked them up because the package boasted about what a great healthy energy booster they are. I have a seed flat already filled with dirt...and I've been kind of leaning toward starting a bunch of herbs (as opposed to veggies)...so the Chia seeds are now on my list to plant in this flat.

Nasturtium
Chia as in Chia-Pet? Can you eat the hair of your chia pet? That's neat.

What's chia like?
Things wives hate
Chia seems to be Salvia hispanica. The pet just borrowed the name. It's in the mint family.
Me
The other variety of Chia: Salvia columbariae

Has flower stems very similar to Lion's Ear (Leonitus leonurus?)

I'll have see what kind I have. I've never used it before so I don't really know what its like....yet
