After the hike, Aaron and I headed straight to Reems Creek (http://www.reemscreek.com) Aaron wanted some new pine needles for our blueberry hill and I was eager to just step foot into a nursery again.
We of course came home with some new plants: 1 lavender, 4 pak choys and phlox ...none of which made it in the ground today.
Although I did pot and re-pot quite a few things today. My rue plant had babies...so I thought I'd pot a few of those to give away.
They are still waking up from winter so I think I'm going to bring them back to life some more before finding them a new home.
Some cat nip that I thought I had dug up is starting to resurface. So I decided to pot some of it for my cats. They actually prefer chomping on the plant over eating the dried stuff. My intention was to let this get bigger before giving it to them, but one of my cats has already found his way to it.
I also potted a cutting of my Stapelia plant for my friend Jonathan. I was lucky enough to find a piece that had already started to grow a root on it.
I've placed all of these together in my "Give-Away window Garden."
I didn't take new pictures but I also repotted my aloe and one of my other house plants
You can't really see from this picture but many of the leaves on this plant are yellowing. I think I may have been over watering it. When I removed it from its pot all of the soil was definitely wet. Per Aaron's Mom's suggestion I'm going to hold of on watering for a couple weeks. The soil I placed it in was also pretty dry ...so that should also help remove some of the excess moisture.
All in all it was a really great day of being outside, gardening and enjoying nature. :)
