Back in my Yard!

..well kind of. Either way I've recently returned from a fun filled trip to Austin TX.

It was completely inspiring in terms of the what I do generally and what I can be doing for Greenthumbr.

For anyone that has happened upon this post via a seed packet from me, i want to say it was a pleasure meeting you even it was only for a split second. Secondly if you've received any "I want one" from friends or family that have seen your seed packet, you are welcome to private message me an address to send one to. We happen to have a limited number of extras.

While traveling, I was lucky enough to have a personal camera man (aka travis) so my pictures are unfortunately limited. Below are a few fuzzy ones that

One restaurant we passed had all of their windows lined with potted plants. It was gorgeous!

Many things were already in bloom there. Austin typically had warm days and cool nights. Perfect for these cool weather flowers.

One plant in a cactus garden I happened upon. Anyone know what this is?

Another place we passed by had ornamental kale. This picture definitely does not do it justice.

These pictures are really only a small sampling of the plant life in Austin. Much to my surprise Austin has a great gardening community. I'm looking forward to hearing more from other greenthumbr users that live there!

June - I think that succulent that you mentioned was part of a cactus garden is an Agave Palmeri http://greenthumbr.com/plants/agave_palmeri

Here's a picture from Wikipedia of a full grown agave palmeri.
