A heartening sight

Today I went out to inspect the peppers again.  I've been fretting over them for so long, it was a huge relief to see this:

Those are green leaves!  Growing!  Truly, those are the first new leaves I've seen on these peppers since I put them in the ground 6 weeks ago.  All hail the fish emulsion!  This stuff is liquid gold, I tell you.

Then there's this cute little Ancho:

The ancho never struggled as much as the bells, so while it's not a big bush yet, it's sturdy enough to fruit.

This Lemon Cucumber had yellowed badly the first 2 weeks it was in, but this last week, it's grown at least 3 inches!  I'm still pulling the flowers off though.

Things wives hate
Even with the challenges you've faced, I still have pepper envy. My habaneros look okay, but they haven't grown with vim and vigor yet, really.
Me.
Well, we've already have several days above 90, and one weekend where it was 98, so it's full-on summer here already. My peppers had no excuse for their slackery, unless you count malnourishment :)

Habeneros? You are a braver soul than I.
Nasturtium
Pleased to see that the peppers have perked up. Just curious, why pull the flowers off the cucumber. Doesn't that prevent it from fruiting (which prevents the cuke from forming)?
Me.
Right. It's still a tiny little seedling (less than 10" long), so I want it to put its energy into root production and strong vines, not fruit just yet. I've been pulling flowers off my tomatoes until they're at least 3feet high too.
