Last night was Date Night with Rebecca, since the in-laws were watching the kid.
Of course, we were in the middle-of-nowhere Virginia, so our date consisted of a jaunt to Wal-Mart. Really.
Anyhow, in the gardening section of Wal-Mart, we noticed they had some cacti for sale. These cacti each had a flower on the tip.
Apologies for the quality, but I only had my iPhone on me.
So, that's nice, a flowering cactus for sale.
Then we noticed...
The flowers appeared to be synthetic. And they were definitely lovingly attached to the cactus using hot glue.
That seems awfully deceptive and downright mean to the plant.
Is this common practice in the Wal-Mart gardening organization? Or just Wytheville's interpretation of "pretty cactus"?

A quick google brought me to a blog that suggests that this a common practice:

Apparently Home Depot is guilty of this too.
