Not a Drop to Drink

One of the issues constantly on our minds in GA these days is the Level Four drought. Since last summer, we have made changes in the way we live inside and out to try and conserve water. I'm proud to say I have reduced our home water usage by 33%.

Yesterday I showed Maggie how to take our collected rainwater and use it throughout all of our outdoor plantings. We managed to water her garden, all our new plants, the corner border and fill the birdbath.

Does anyone have tips, tools, or tricks of the trade to share in terms of water conservation?

Annex parts of Tennessee seems to be the strategy endorsed by Georgia, no?

It seems to me that, if you've already got rain barrels you're doing great! We have yet to get that far - though this could be the summer that something drastic like that happens.

in regards to drought and rain barrels. you're actually not allowed to have a rain barrel if you live in colorardo. I think people have "water right aways" and by collecting the water that runs off your roof you're preventing water from reaching these waterways...pretty crazy. Hopefully we'll never have those kinds of restrictions.
